@hari prasad – I think Jawan was the last big Indian tentpole to have an extended cut. (I know the version really didn’t do justice to the tag) Since then the trend has stopped primarily due to grey areas in the re-certification of a film.

CBFC has also been arm twisting the OTT platforms to not pursue the extended cut option. Basically it’s the CBFC telling OTT platforms that only the theatre version needs to stream on our tv/phone screens as well. And I’m not sure if the Netflixes and the Amazon Primes are lobbying against it because their content heads fear getting summoned to the court.

If the above is any indication, GOAT would also go the LEO way, since there were murmurs that we’re gonna get an extended cut in Netflix.
